The 2024 KUSMF Concerto Competition

The competition is open to all Kutztown University Summer Music Festival participants and it is going to take place Thursday, July 11, in Schaeffer Auditorium.
The participants must perform one movement from the standard concerto repertoire by memory. Categories: Junior Division (Ages 12-17) Senior Division (Ages 18 and up) One winner will be selected from each category. The grand prize will be a sponsored concert with the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Macedonia at the Megaron Concert Hall in Thessaloniki, Greece during Spring of 2025.
The winner of the other category will have the opportunity to perform with the Kutztown University Orchestra during the academic year 2024–2025. |

The participants will have two scheduled rehearsals prior to their performance.
Concerto competition application fee: $60*
*This is separate from the application fee for the Festival
The First Prize winner, of the 2022 KUSMF Concerto competition, Quincy Eby, viola, (Junior Division) and Theodosia Mitzi (Senior Division), performed in Greece as soloists with the Symphony Orchestra of the University of Macedonia at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall, on June 9, 2023.
